Ferndale Police Ask Public’s Help Locating Man with Alzheimer’s
UPDATED – Missing Man Located
On May 28, 2020 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Ferndale Police dispatch received a call to investigate a report of a missing 82 year old man from the south west section of our city.
Officers responded and learned that Joe Lemelin had walked away from the family home in the 1400 block of Leroy without anyone noticing. Mr. Lemelin’s son reports that his father responds to his own name, but little else.
Home surveillance footage shows Mr. Joe Lemelin leaving the home at approximately 6:30 p.m. and walking west bound on Leroy Avenue from Central. He was wearing a baseball cap, white shirt, brown belt, khaki pants and black dress socks.
Officers have searched the area numerous times over night but have been unable to locate him. Anyone that may have seen Joe Lemelin is asked to call the Ferndale Police at 248- 541-3650. If you encounter Mr. Lemelin please call 911.
UPDATE: Mr. Lemelin has been found safe!  Thank you to everyone who helped.
