Man in Orion Township Admits to Shooting Himself in the Leg

Orion Twp, MI- Deputies and the Orion Township Fire Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Silverbell Road on April 12 for a shooting which had just occurred. The caller stated his son-in-law was shot in the leg by an unknown person while standing in the driveway of the residence. The caller stated a black Dodge Durango was seen in the area when the shooting occurred.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries by the Orion Township Fire Department. Deputies on scene observed the victim’s vehicle in the driveway with the door open. There was a spent shell casing lying on the front passenger floor as well as two magazines with .25 caliber bullets. The victim denied shooting himself in the leg. The victim refused transport to the hospital by Orion Township Fire Department and drove himself to McLaren-Oakland Hospital. A Detective was called-in and went to the hospital to interview the victim. The victim admitted he had shot himself and the weapon was inside the residence.
