Reporter Food: Mike’s Coney Island in Holly
(Crystal A. Proxmire, March 12, 2020)
Holly, MI- Mike’s Coney Island, located at 15195 N. Holly Road, has artwork on their menu that could alone be the subject of a pretty interesting post. It’s got a fork that looks like a person with a pronged head and a handbag to match, and character made out of spoons wearing a Detroit Tiger’s cap and carrying bags of take-out. The border has rainbow colors made to look like they were scribbled with crayon. It’s also a menu full of delightful dining opportunities.
I was there recently for a breakfast of Irish Hash – made with corned beef, onion, mushroom, and shredded provolone and cheddar topped with two eggs, which I had over easy. This was a great start to the day. I really enjoyed the meal and the busy, family-friendly atmosphere.
They don’t have a website, but their Facebook Page says “We appreciate the support our customers and community give to make this restaurant the way it is. We strive to keep an upbeat, family oriented environment that customers and staff can call home. Come on in and join the Coney Family.” There’s also an online menu with lots of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices.
