Reporter Food: LaBotana in Troy

Troy, MI – LaBotana Mexican Grill at 5947 John R Road in Troy was a great place for lunch with a friend. According to their website, they feature “family recipes directly from Guanajuato, Mexico,” which include fajitas, homemade tamales, fresh made salsa, chorizo and more.
My friend ordered a trio of street tacos, topped with cilantro and chopped onion, and served with a side of rice. I opted for a burrito as well as delicious piece of Tres leches cake.  Everything seemed to be made fresh and with care.
LaBotana is brightly decorated with a few small tables, though clearly they handle a lot of to go orders.  Check out their menu at http://labotanamexicanfood.com/.
