Holly Man Arrested for Online Threat

Holly, MI – On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 at about 2pm the Holly Police Department received information from multiple sources that a 23 year old Holly Twp man posted a threatening message on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10:13pm. Based on the information received from the callers and an investigation, Holly Police investigators believed the threat to be credible.
The Facebook post stated “Downtown Holly and every kid I went to highschool with is aboutta meet their fate real quick startin with the fews.”
The investigation revealed that the man had become depressed since a recent relationship breakup and his mood and demeanor had drastically changed. In addition he had recently purchased a handgun.
Based on the threat to the public at large and specific individuals who felt threatened, Holly officers arrested the man at his Holly Township home Friday afternoon without incident and lodged him at Oakland County Jail. The firearm was recovered at the home. On Friday, Fe. 28 a warrant was obtained from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office charging him with one count of Malicious Use of Telecommunications Services, a six-month misdemeanor. The man is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, FEb. 29 with a a court date pending in the 52/2 District Court.
