Reporter Food: Street Tacos and More at Montage Grill in Clawson
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Jan. 27, 2020)
Clawson, MI – The Montage Grill in Clawson specializes in Mexican-inspired fare, including a lovely selection of street tacos. On a recent visit, my dining companion enjoyed the Picante Shrimp on soft corn tortillas, topped with lemon aioli, pico de gallo, and guacamole.
My choice was the Fried Potato and Avocado on flour tortillas, topped with Chipotle mayo, lettuce and pepper jack cheese. Though simple in concept, the tacos were beautifully presented, and I was especially impressed with the potatoes, which were finely diced and lightly fried, making them more succulent than one might expect.
Other street taco selections include Roasted Poblano Corn, Braised Lamb, Blackened Grilled Carne Asada and more, delivered to the table in sets of three. Rice and beans are easily added.
Beyond the tacos Montage offers sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, and nachos. The margaritas are large and salty-rimmed and those who like sweets (as I do) may be excited by Montage’s Churro Donut, served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. It was very good.
Montage is located at 28 South Main Street in Downtown Clawson. Check them out online at www.montagegrill.com.
