Reporter Food: Bananas Foster at Johnny Cakes in Troy

Troy, MI –  Obviously the bananas foster pancakes at Johnny Cakes Cafe were amazing, with their candied bacon and pecans among caramelized bananas heaped upon a triple stack of homemade pancakes.
But what really impressed me at this little cafe at 4916 John R Rd in Troy was the homemade corned beef hash. This was made with nice sized bites of corned beef mixed with crispy golden potatoes.  The corned beef was the softest, most flavorful I’ve had in my life, and I know that I will be back soon for more.
Johnny Cakes is known for their pancakes, with choices like Peanut Butter and Nutella, Cranberry Pecan, Fruity Pebbles, Apple Cinnamon Saute and more. Sweet crepes, savory crepes, skillets and omelettes are also popular. Johnny Cakes also serves lunch, mainly burgers, sandwiches, salads and wraps.
