Shop Small: Deals in Downtown Royal Oak
Royal Oak, MI- The Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority is pulling out all the stops for Small Business Saturday on November 30, 2019. Many local businesses will be offering special, one-day-only deals for the occasion. A shopping passport will help guide shoppers from store to store, offering prizes to those who complete them. Specialty holiday totes will be given out to shoppers. Finally, free hot chocolate will be provided to shoppers.
Participating stores and restaurants will be offering special deals to the small business shopper, including 20% off all candles and perfumes at Scout, 25% off all holiday ornaments at Five15, 30% off any Citizen Yoga designs, 15% off your total bill at the Rock on Third with the presentation of a receipt from a local retailer, and many more.
Shopping passports were mailed to many neighborhoods surrounding Downtown Royal Oak,” said Downtown Manager Sean Kammer. “The mailers actually double as our shopping passports, so bring them with you on Small Business Saturday. More can be obtained at any participating retailer.” Shoppers will get a sticker at each participating business where they make a purchase. Passports with five or more stickers can be redeemed for special gifts at the main tent of Downtown Royal Oak’s holiday Jingle event on December 14 and 15 in Downtown Royal Oak.
Another exciting feature are the Royal Oak shopping totes. Shoppers who make a purchase of $25 or more at a participating retailer will receive a 2019 Royal Oak commemorative shopping tote.
Finally, FREE HOT CHOCOLATE will be given out to shoppers on Washington Avenue between the hours of noon and 6:00 p.m. by the Tin Cup Coffee Company. Tin Cup Coffee will be in their mobile food truck trailer at the intersection of Washington Avenue and 5th Street.
Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on all the entrepreneurs that make our downtown vibrant and unique. For this year’s Small Business Saturday, we are aiming to boost pedestrian traffic, increase sales at local independent stores, and promote the Downtown.
