Nov. 21 – Holly to Welcome New Police Chief, Lake Orion’s Jerry Narsh
Holly, MI -At last night’s regular meeting, the Village Council accepted staff’s recommendation and unanimously voted to hire JERRY L. NARSH as the Village of Holly’s new Police Chief.
The hiring process began in late August.  22 applications were received and a selection panel consisting of Village President Tom McKenney, Township Supervisor George Kullis, Fire Chief Steve McGee, and citizen representative Gary Mills narrowed the field to 4 top candidates, of which 2 were recommended for final interviews, conducted by Acting Police Chief Scott Fischer and Village Manager Jerry Walker.  Narsh was chosen as the most qualified applicant and selected for employment.
Mr. Narsh comes to us from Lake Orion, where he spent the last 38 years working for the Lake Orion Police Department, having served the last 19 years as Chief of Police.  During his career with the department, Chief Narsh implemented several community policing programs and has received many awards.  Chief Narsh believes in the power of social media and will be actively posting on the Village of Holly Police Department’s Facebook page soon.
Chief Narsh will begin his transition working for the Village of Holly right away.  The Holly Area Chamber of Commerce will host a public swearing-in at 5:00 p.m. with a ‘Meet the Chief’ reception immediately following Thursday, November 21st at The Holly Vault, located at 202 S. Saginaw St.  Everyone in the Village is invited to attend this event.  Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
