Police Seek Driver of Red Dodge Dart Accused of Shooting at Amazon Driver
INCIDENT: 11/08/2019 19:00 hrs. – City of Rochester Hills – Shots Fired – Attempt Murder / Detective Call-Out – #19-220688.
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the area of E. Tienken Rd and Vanhoosen Rd on the report of a subject who had been shot in the arm. Upon their arrival, Deputies determined that the victim had not been shot but that his vehicle, a Pontiac Grand Prix, had three (3) bullet holes in the trunk. One projectile had traveled through the trunk lid, passing through the rear passenger seat and into the driver’s seat, narrowly missing the victim. The victim was not injured.
The victim was a contracted driver who was delivering packages for Amazon.com. He allegedly encountered a red Dodge Dart with black stripes while he was in the City of Rochester. The victim had passed the vehicle near the intersection of Letica Rd and Bluff Rd when it began to follow him. To lose the vehicle, the victim then turned left onto Runyon Rd. The victim had stopped when the Dodge Dart pulled alongside. The driver of the Dodge Dart and its passenger both brandished semi-automatic handguns. The victim then drove away, while the occupants of the Dodge Dart shot at his vehicle 4 to 6 times. The victim drove into the Vanhoosen Museum parking area and last saw the Dodge Dart turning westbound onto E. Tienken Rd.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: An OCSO Evidence Technician processed the vehicle. A bullet was recovered from the rear bumper of the vehicle. A Detective was notified and responded to continue with the investigation.
VICTIM INFORMATION: 28-year-old male, resident of the City of Eastpointe.
SUSPECT INFORMATION (DRIVER): White male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
SUSPECT INFORMATION (PASSENGER): White male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and green knit duck billed hat.
