Reporter Food: Blueberry Pancakes at Sam’s Ferndale Grill
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 30, 2019)
Ferndale, MI – On Woodward just north of 8 Mile (right next to White Castle) is a family diner called Sam’s Ferndale Grill.
That’s where I recently ate a plate of blueberry pancakes for dinner. They were soft and buttery with a big gob of butter melting on top, with plenty left over for breakfast the next day.
My dining companion had the chicken club, which came stacked with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on toasted bread served held together with frilly toothpicks and served with a side of crinkly fries.
The comfy booths and comfort food made for a delicious meal at a place that I’ve enjoyed many times over the past decade of covering Ferndale news. I’m happy to finally include them in the Reporter Food Index.
Check out their menu online to find other traditional American and Greek favorites, like hot turkey sandwiches, Maurice salads, patty melts, and other fare for lunch and dinner.
Sam’s Ferndale Grill is located at 21468 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220.
