Four Year Old Dead from Pit Bull Attack in Hazel Park
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 30, 2019)
Hazel Park, MI- A family is mourning the loss of a four year old boy who was fatally attacked by a pit bull in their home.  According to various reports, the family had been caring for a friend’s dog when it went after the young child, biting and clawing it to death.
The attack happened Tuesday evening in a home on E. Woodruff.  The mother of the child stabbed the dog in an attempt to stop the attack, while the boy’s 14 year old sister called 911. The mother also suffered wounds from the animal, which are not life-threatening.
Police used tasers on the pit bull to stop the attack and free the child. In spite of being tasered, the dog was able to run from the house.  It was later found, and euthanized by a local veterinarian.
