Nov. 12 – Youth Law Conference for HS Students in Oakland County

Troy, MI- The Youth Law Conference is a one-day event on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Troy that educates high school juniors and seniors about career options in the legal profession, the general legal process, provides tools for better decision-making, and features a variety of legal issues as they pertain to the students. By tailoring this program to the interests and issues of a teen audience, the OCBA and its volunteer attorneys deliver an engaging program that is a hit with students and teachers alike.

We’ve got a great set of topics for this year’s sessions:

~Canines in the Law

~A Day in the Life of a Juvenile Prosecutor

~Changes in Michigan’s Marijuana Law

~10 Things to Remember When Confronted By Police

~Healthy Relationships and Dating Violence

~Careers in the FBI

~Careers in the Courtroom

~Capturing best success

The OCBA has allocated funds for those schools whose budgets will not support transportation costs. Funding for buses traveling in Oakland County may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
