Police Seek to Identify Prowler in Rochester Hills/Troy Area
(OCSO, Oct. 11, 2019)
Rochester Hills, Troy, MI – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in helping to identify a prowler related to a series of incidents in the City of Rochester Hills and the City of Troy.
A suspect described as a black male, possibly around 20 years old, with a thin build, short hair, and a possible goatee, is believed to have been involved in multiple incidents in the area dating back to March 2019. In most cases, the suspect has been caught looking into windows or back sliding doors before running off. Some of the incidents have been captured on Ring Doorbell footage and security cameras.
In July, the suspect entered a home twice in the City of Troy where in one of the instances touched a female’s leg before running out of the home.
Since the first incident was reported in March 2019, there have been five confirmed reports in the City of Rochester Hills and one in Troy. There are other reports which investigators believe are related but have not been able to be confirmed yet. These incidents have mainly occurred in the southside of Rochester Hills including on Monterey, Hazelton, Dearborn, and Villanova Streets.
“It appears this individual may be escalating his behavior with the home invasion in the City of Troy,” said Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “We want this guy off the streets as soon as possible.”
“Troy Police Detectives have been vigorously pursuing all leads in the home invasion which occurred in Troy, and we are eager to get this suspect off the streets,” said Troy Police Chief Frank Nastasi. “We are asking all residents to report any information related to this case.”
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone else to come forward who may have been a victim of the suspected prowler. Further, if you can identify this individual, please call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP. You will remain anonymous.
