Reporter Food: Hobo Skillet at the Early Bird Café in Keego Harbor
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 15, 2019)
Keego Harbor, MI – On a beautiful morning after a court case I sat on the outdoor patio of the Early Bird Café at 3415 Orchard Lake Road in Keego Harbor, wrote a story the old fashioned way (with pen and paper), and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.
I ordered the Hobo Skillet which was a sizzling hot pan filled with corned beef hash with potatoes and onion, topped with cheddar and three over-easy eggs (which can be cooked to the customer’s liking). Plus there was a choice between toast and a biscuit and I opted for the later.
The food was good and the view of passing cars gave the meal a nice touch. There’s plenty of seating inside as well.
There doesn’t seem to be a website for the Early Bird Café, so you’ll just have to check it out in person at 3415 Keego Harbor. But get there before 3pm because it’s definitely not a night owl kind of spot.
