Reporter Food: Birmingham Sushi Cafe

Birmingham, MI – My quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County took me recently to Downtown Birmingham for the Birmingham Sushi Cafe, located at 377 Hamilton Row.
Here a friend and I shared a lunchtime feast that started with crispy spring rolls and an order of Agedshi Tofu.  The tofu was lightly fried, topped with scallions, and served in a rich dark sauce.
These little bites of deliciousness were followed by beautifully crafted sushi rolls.  My dining companion opted for the spicy salmon roll, topped with a fiery orange sauce.  I had the chicken teriyaki roll, featuring juicy grilled chicken and matchstick-cut cucumber wrapped in rice and seaweed with teriyaki.
This was a great option for lunch, and was clearly popular with business people and shoppers.  The long row of booths are framed like little nooks to make business meetings feel more private, while there are more open tables in the bright front of the cafe, plus seating outside.
