Suspects Released as Prosecutor Asks for More Info in Ferndale Shooting Case

Ferndale, MI- Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper’s office is asking for more information before filing charges in relation to an exchange of gunfire Friday morning in front of Bosco Lounge in Downtown Ferndale.
Two men were injured in the altercation.  One had been shot in the hand, and the other hospitalized in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Two men were taken into custody. There were three handguns found at the scene.
Ferndale Police Sgt. Baron Brown released a statement Tuesday stating “Ferndale Police detectives presented their investigation into an early morning shooting that injured two men to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office late in the day on Friday, August 30. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office declined to issue charges against anyone involved. The two men being held in the Ferndale Police lock-up were released pending further investigation. This investigation remains open and active and no further updates will be released pending significant developments.”
When asked about the lack of charges, Cooper told Oakland County  Times ” It was, what we call ‘furthered.’ In common speak, it means, we need more information. The case is going to be reviewed by the Chief of Warrants, when he returns next Monday.”
