2019 Dream Cruise Brings Lots of People, and Cars, to Woodward
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Aug 17, 2019)
Ferndale, MI – The annual Woodward Dream Cruise officially kicked off Friday evening in Downtown Ferndale with a ribbon cutting and a Lights and Sirens parade of classic police and fire vehicles along Woodward Avenue at Nine Mile.
Mayor Dave Coulter, who had been appointed County Executive just a few hours earlier, appeared with Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard and other elected officials for the opening ceremony.
Coulter reminded the public that the Dream Cruise began in Ferndale 25 years ago as a fundraiser for a soccer field.  The event was successful beyond anyone’s expectations, and now is an annual phenomenon that stretches all along Woodward between Ferndale and the Woodward Loop in Pontiac.
He also said that Mustang Alley has grown, now featuring over 2,000 different types of Ford Mustangs through the generations.
