Knit N Yarn Club Makes Items to Raise Money to Help Cancer Patients at Ascension in Novi

Novi, MI- Looking for a way to meet new friends, brush up on an old handiwork skill and a way to give back to the community?
Well, have we got a group for you. The Knit ‘N’ Yarn Club is just what the doctor ordered!
We are a group of like-minded gals (guys welcome too) who find enjoyment in using our handiwork skills to help out  at the Assarian Cancer Center through the Healing Arts program.
We knit, crochet, sew, smock, and do other needle arts (other forms of handwork is also appreciated) using donated supplies from the community to make items that we sell at the Assarian Center, sales at the main hospital and several local craft fairs. 100% of the profits go to helping cancer patients who need help with bills, transportation, healing massages and other unforeseen expenses.
We also do what we can to make the Cancer Unit at Ascension Providence Park Hospital a bit more comfortable for family and patients. A few years ago we provided a nutrition room for patients and family to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea or drinks for the patients that family might bring.
A short time later we provided a family lounge to offer a quiet respite or a private place for a consultation. The club meets every FIRST Wednesday of the Month from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Art room on the second floor of the Assarian Cancer Center located on the North side of the hospital campus accessed by using the Grand River entrance; go past the stop sign and straight ahead, there is a sign on the building.
Our club has helped so many patients fight off repossession of a car or eviction and we are looking for more helping hands.
The Knit ‘N’ Yarn club is part of the Healing Arts Program and if you just want to come and knit on your projects you are welcome to do so and enjoy the company of a group of fun people.
