Ferndale Community Foundation Awards $11,500 to Local Groups

Ferndale, MI- The Ferndale Community Foundation presented $11,500 worth of contributions to local groups at the City Council meeting Monday night.
Councilperson Dan Martin stepped away from his seat on the dais to present the checks and share a bit about each project as Chair of the Foundation.
Grant recipients for 2019 are:
Citizens for Fair Ferndale for Good Neighbor Awards
FernCare Free Clinic paying for radiology services for patients without insurance in partnership with BASHA, an imaging company
Ferndale Community Concert Band funding used file cabinets
Ferndale Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to fund Art and SMART instillation at bus stops
Ferndale Schools Fine Arts Boosters to help offset costs of props for performance Renaissance Vineyard Church for their Raise the Roof project.
In addition to the monies distributed Monday, the Community Foundation also donates money to LGBT nonprofits through the annual Ferndale Pride event.
