Fresh Pavement, Vintage Cars, & Silver Muzzle Rescue Dogs Part of Weekend at Waterford Hills Road Racing

Clarkston, MI- Each year in July, vintage-car drivers travel from near and far to participate in the Waterford Hills Vintage Races event. Waterford Hills Road Racing track (WHRR) is located east of Dixie Highway in Clarkston, just north of Andersonville Road.
This year’s vintage event, which took place July 26-28, came complete with sunny skies and more than 100 participants from California to New York and Ontario to Florida. WHRR celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, and the drivers had the honor of christening the 
newly paved road course. More than thirty Michigan Turn Marshals volunteered to make the vintage races possible.
Members of the Silver Muzzle Cottage showcased retired working dogs available for adoption on Silver Muzzle Saturday, and Bikers against Child Abuse, who volunteered at the event, displayed information about their organization on Sunday.
What started out as a gymkhana course in 1958 later became Waterford Hills Road Racing (WHRR) track. The original gymkhana course was lengthened, paved and named Waterford Hills in 1959. It remains an amateur road racing course, hosting open track days, driving school, and race events with SCCA, car clubs and more each year.
