Ferndale, MI- There are many reasons to join the club!
Since 1931 Ferndale Elks Lodge #1588 has been bringing people together for friendship and for serving the community. The Lodge is a fraternal order and social club with modest annual dues, with a welcoming space located in the heart of Ferndale’s booming downtown.
Ours is a progressive social club with vibrant night life, live music, karaoke, euchre tournaments, sport games screening – you name it. The Lodge is nonpolitical and non-sectarian, open to any gender, any religion, and any ethnicity. The Lodge has a strong LGBTQ base and recognizes same gender marriage.
There are over 500 members from all walks of life, with people from many professions to meet and network with.
We get together during the holidays and arrange potlucks and activities: from an occasional Sunday brunch to a Thanksgiving feast, prepared by the members and volunteers. One of the Lodges longest and favorite traditions is to raise funds and purchase food supplies for the local families in need for Christmas. Members come to the lodge and assemble food baskets with one hundred baskets assembled and delivered last Christmas. There is nothing that bonds members more than charity work.
Membership dues and fundraisers help us support or participate in local efforts like Ferndale Pride, the Memorial Parade, Christmas Food drive, out-reach to an Army veterans program, Ferndale Youth Assistance, and many others.
Over the years, the Ferndale Lodge has raised over 3 million dollars towards local and nationwide charities and provided over $50,000 in scholarships. We work together to help people in need and help better the local community.
Plus there is history. Ferndale Lodge #1588 was established on March 28, 1931 and has been at the present location since 1943. The Lodge was actively involved in starting the Woodward Dream Cruise, which “drives” right by the front door. Dream Cruise is a big fundraiser for the Drug Awareness program, Elks National Foundation, and Major Project. We’re also honored to provide a hospitality room for the various police departments and volunteers working the Cruise.
Ferndale #1588 is a 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 winner of the All-American Lodge 5-star award from the Grand Lodge as well as a winner in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 as a Gold Star Lodge; first ever in lodge history. In 2018, we received 1st place for being the fastest growing lodge in our division in the US.
There is no better time to get involved if you feel passionate about charity and volunteer work. Come in and talk to us about how you can get involved, but don’t feel pressured. You can be as involved as little or as extensively as you want.
Do you have a special cause that you want to aid? Come and see what resources and fundraising experience we can offer. Our facility has ample space for casual and formal gatherings, the banquet hall can accommodate up to 100 people for your event needs. The Lodge recently remodeled the Lodge club room to offer modern, comfortable, and fashionable entertainment experience.
