Waterford School Board Hopes for More Swim Time and Rental Fees with Restructuring

Waterford, MI – The Waterford Board of Education has approved the reorganization of the Waterford Pool & Fitness Centers effective September 3, 2019. Changes in the operation of the Pool & Fitness Centers are:
~Kettering campus will be utilized for student instruction, programming (classes), rentals, and special events.
~Mott campus will be utilized for student instruction and community use (memberships). The hours of operation will remain the same after Labor Day: 5:30a-8p M-F (pools closed 12:30-3p), 7a-6p on Saturday, 9a-5p on Sunday.
There is a high demand in the community to host swim meets, special events, and other exclusive rentals in the facilities. This reorganization will allow for those events to take place primarily at the Kettering campus while also increasing the amount of uninterrupted pool time and space available for members and guests at the Mott campus. Both campuses will continue to provide student instruction and serve our student athletes.
The intent of this reorganization is to maximize our instructional delivery system for the purpose of increased student achievement, while also efficiently serving the needs of our community.
