Crash on Dixie Hwy Sends Vehicle Through Front of Brose Electric
(Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, June 29, 2019)
Independence Twp, MI –  Just before 6pm Saturday, Deputies responded to the Brose Electric Company located at 5897 Dixie Highway on the report of a traffic crash.  The Sheriff’s Dispatch Center was advised that a vehicle had driven through the west side of the business.  Upon their arrival, Deputies learned that the driver of a Ford Explorer which had been traveling northbound on Dixie Highway was momentarily distracted causing the vehicle to drift left and strike a Chrysler 200 from the left side rear end.  This impact caused the second vehicle to spin, sending it back into vehicle one for a second time.  Both vehicles traveled across all south bound lanes of Dixie Highway.  The responsible vehicle then impacted the front of the Brose Electric building.  The second vehicle came to rest in the parking lot.  Brose Electric was closed at the time of the accident and neither driver was injured.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Responding Deputies conducted a crash investigation.  The responsible driver was issued a civil infraction citation.  Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.  Montgomery and Sons was contacted to board up the damaged building and a representative from Brose Electric responded to the scene.
DRIVER OF RESPONSIBLE VEHICLE:  52-year-old white male resident of Independence Township.
DRIVER OF SECOND VEHICLE:  66-year-old female resident of Independence Township.
