Man Accused of Fleeing From Auburn Hills Police Arrested in Romeo

Auburn Hills, MI – On Thursday, June 20, 2019, Victor Emmett Crosley, a 49 year old man from Romeo, Michigan was arraigned at the 52/3 District Court on charges of Fleeing a Police Officer (5 year felony), Driving While License Suspended 2nd or subsequent offense (1 year misdemeanor) and Unlawful Use of a License Plate (90 day misdemeanor). Mr. Crosley was arraigned in front of Magistrate Soma and bond was set at $10,000 cash, 10% allowed. A preliminary exam conference has been scheduled for July 1, 2019 at 1:15 pm in front of Judge Carniak.
On June 12, 2019, at 8:00 pm a sergeant from the Auburn Hills Police Department attempted to stop Mr. Crosley in a late model white Chevy S-10 as it was parked in a construction site after hours on Bald Mountain Rd. It is alleged that Mr. Crosley fled the area in his truck onto NB Bald Mountain Rd. toward Dutton Rd. A vehicle pursuit ensued and Mr. Crosley failed to stop for the sergeant. The pursuit was terminated for safety concerns due to Mr. Crosley’s driving. The license plate on the vehicle had been previously reported stolen in another city.
The information and images of the suspect vehicle were shared with law enforcement and the public through social media requesting assistance in identifying the suspect in this case. In the early morning hours of June 18, 2019 a police officer from the Romeo Police Department observed the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of a local motel. The Auburn Hills Police Department was contacted and officers were sent to Romeo, where the suspect was arrested without incident.
The Auburn Hills Police Department would like to thank the Romeo Police Department and the keen observation skills of the officer who located this suspect for us. We would also like to thank the media and public for sharing this information, which led to the suspect’s arrest within 24 hours of disseminating the information.
