LAKE ORION – No one was injured in a truck fire that stalled traffic in Lake Orion this morning. The driver – the only occupant in the vehicle – was driving a one-ton pickup style work truck north on M-24 when he was alerted by cars around him that the bed of his truck was on fire, according to Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh.
The driver stopped in the center lane of M-24 just north of Atwater Street and called 9-1-1. The Orion Township Fire Department received the call at 10:21 a.m. and extinguished the fire. Officials removed the truck from the roadway by 11:16 a.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
