Reporter Food: Front Page Deli
(Crystal A. Proxmire, May 25, 2019)
Oak Park, MI – At the Front Page Deli in Oak Park, the sandwiches all have newspaper themed names.
The “Breaking News” is spiral ham with melted American cheese and mustard on Rye.
The “Front Page Burger” has corned beef, Cole Slaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing.
And the “Metro” has roast beef, lettuce, onion, Swiss cheese, and Italian dressing on an onion roll.
Other options include the Wall Street, the Local, the Weather, the Sports and the Business (not to be confused with the “Big Business” 1lb of deli meat monster).
I recently had the “Editorial.” This mouth-watering sandwich is made with thin, crispy breaded fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, melted Swiss cheese and mayo on an onion roll. I also ordered the chili cheese fries. To be honest, these weren’t the most photogenic chili cheese fries, but they were thick and hearty. The sandwich was lovely inside and out, with a great flavor to the breading on the chicken. The sandwich also came with chips – in my case Better Made barbecue flavored.
Front Page Deli has two locations in Warren along with their Oak Park location at 24810 Greenfield. You can also order it delivered through Doordash like I did.
