Troy Police Seeking Driver Who Fled After Fatally Hitting Man in Parking Lot
TROY, MI – Troy police officers are investigating a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian on Friday, May 24 at 8:55 am in the north parking lot of 500 Kirts.
The suspect, driving a black unknown SUV, fled the scene and is at large. The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, with a well-trimmed, short beard.
Killed was 48 year old JV Binkley of Ann Arbor. Binkley was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont by Alliance Mobile Health where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation continued through the weekend. Officers are currently reviewing surveillance video from the area. Troy officers are now asking anyone with any information to call the Troy Police Department Traffic Safety Unit at 248-524-3477.
The victim was a vending machine supplier doing work in the building at the time of the incident. The parking lot is for an office building housing medical offices. It is unknown why the suspect was in the parking lot.
