Petitions Pulled for Berkley Mayor and Council Race, Still Time to Get on Ballot

Berkley, MI – Although the filing deadline is not until 4pm on July 23, several have already requested nominating petitions to be on the Nov. 5, 2019 ballot in the City of Berkley.
Deputy City Clerk Gina Cipriani provided Oakland County Times with a list of those who pulled petitions.
Requesting petitions does not always mean that the person is going to run. There is the possibility that they will fall short in collecting signatures, or otherwise be disqualified. Or they may simply decide not to.
Thus far Charles Tyrrell and Bridget Dean have turned in petitions and affidavits for City Council.
Current Councilmembers Ross Gavin and Eileen Steadman have also pulled petitions for City Council, as has Natalie Price, but as of Friday morning had not yet turned them back in.
Current Mayor Dan Terbrack has pulled petitions for Mayor, as has Robert Lathrop.
Per the City Charter, candidates need 100 signatures, and should not turn in more than 150.
Those who are interested in running can pick up petitions and information at the City Clerk’s office at 3338 Coolidge Hwy, Berkley, MI 48072.
