Petitions Pulled in Royal Oak, Still Time to Run for Mayor or Commission
Royal Oak, MI-  Although the filing deadline is not until 4pm on July 23, several have already requested nominating petitions to be on the Nov. 5, 2019 ballot in the City of Royal Oak.
City Clerk Melanie Halas provided Oakland County Times with a list of those who pulled petitions, noting that not everyone included the position they are running for when they requested the packet.
Requesting petitions does not always mean that the person is going to run. There is the possibility that they will fall short in collecting signatures, or otherwise be disqualified. Or they may simply decide not to.
The following have pulled petitions as of May 1:
Randy LeVasseur – current Commissioner, did not list position
Anthony Reisdorf – Commissioner
Belem Morales – Commissioner
Pamela Lindell – Commissioner
Thomas Hallock – Commissioner
Jeremy Mahrle – Commissioner
Patricia Paruch – Commissioner
Michael Fournier – current Mayor, did not list position
Kyle DuBuc – current Commissioner, did not list position
Per the City Charter, candidates need 500 signatures. Those who are interested in running can pick up petitions and information at the City Clerk’s office at 211 Williams St, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
