Family of Neil Simat, Oxford Man Killed in Crash, Raising Money for Funeral
(C. Proxmire, March 25, 2019)
Oxford, MI- The family of the 56-year old man killed in a crash on Seymour Lake Road Saturday is now raising money for his funeral expenses. Neil Simat’s son Travis set up a GoFundMe page that has raised over $2,000 at the time of this posting.
The site says “In loving memory of Neil Simat. Neil was the loving husband of his wife Colleen, and best friends with his sons Austin and Travis. Neil lived life with a smile on his face and a heart full of love. His sense of humor brought joy to so many. Neil passed away after a tragic accident on March 23, 2019.
“In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations for funeral expenses and to support Neil’s sons.
“The family is thankful for all of the love and support from family and friends during this time.”
Simat’s vehicle was struck when an 18-year-old driver crossed the line into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a car that was stopped to turn left, according to Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
