Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Commerce Road Dies from Injuries

Commerce Twp, MI- The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting deputies with the Commerce Township Substation in the investigation of a fatal traffic crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
The crash occurred on Commerce Road near the intersection of Greenlawn Circle at about 4:49 p.m. this afternoon.
A 68 year old resident of West Bloomfield Township, was driving a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus westbound on Commerce Road near the intersection of Greenlawn Circle when a pedestrian walked into the path of his Lincoln, crossing Commerce Road from north to south in an area not designated as a crosswalk. The Lincoln collided into the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was a 53 year old resident of Commerce Township. The pedestrian was transported to Beaumont Hospital – Farmington Hills via the Commerce Township Fire Department where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
There were no passengers in the Lincoln. Neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash in regard to the driver. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Alcohol and drug use by the pedestrian are unknown.
