Reporter Food: Omelettes at Coolidge Cafe
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Feb. 16, 2019)
Oak Park, MI – There are over 30 omelette options on the menu at Coolidge Cafe in Oak Park.
In addition to this variety, there is a build-your-own option. My friend did this and had hers made with ham, mushroom, and veggies.
I had the Irish Omelette, with the perfectly combined tastes of bacon, hash browns, sour cream, onions, and cheddar cheese. The hash browns were may favorite kind, shredded and slightly greasy, slightly crispy.
Other interesting choices include the Crab Omelette (crab, onions and cheese), IIona’s Favorite Omelette (turkey, tomatoes, onions, broccoli and cheese), and the American (roast beef, onions, tomatoes, green peppers and cheese).
Omelettes aren’t the only thing at Coolidge Cafe, yet there are enough I could eat here for a month and never stray from that section of the menu. There are other breakfast items, like pancakes, corned beef hash, breakfast wraps, and combinations like the “2 eggs any style with catfish, grits and toast.”
Lunch and dinner have many options too. Burgers, wraps and sandwiches dominate the lunch menu, while dinner choices include New York strip steak, shrimp stir fry, lamb shank, liver and onions, breaded veal cutlets, fried pork shops, meat loaf, ribs, and more.
