OC Restaurant Quest: The Coach Sports Grille in Madison Heights
(Crystal A. Proxmire, orig. Jan. 10, 2019)
Madison Heights, MI- Those looking for an inexpensive place to catch a game and have a bite might enjoy The Coach Sports Grille at 26685 Dequindre Rd in Madison Heights.
This laid back neighborhood bar also also has a nice selection of food above and beyond the typical bar grub. Among the more unique choices are the crispy tempura green beans, country fried dill pickles, mom’s meatloaf, and crispy portobello sandwich.
I was introduced to The Coach by Rickey Busler, a Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Vision who has been proud to see the owners thriving since brokering their purchase a couple years ago.
He and I both had the creamy mac and cheese while we talked about upcoming developments in the city, including efforts by the Madison Heights DDA to help foster a thriving creative community center around 11 Mile and John R. I also ordered an Irish Slider, which has Wiggley’s roasted corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and 1,000 island dressing. Basically it was like a little baby Ruben sandwich, with mouth-wateringly tasty meat procured from an Eastern-market based business.
