Brandon Township Woman Fatally Struck While Crossing Ortonville Road

Brandon Township – Deputies and the Brandon Township Fire Department responded to the area of M-15 and Seymour Lake Rd. A subject, operating a 2011 GMC Sierra, was southbound on Ortonville Rd. south of Seymour Lake Road when a pedestrian walked across Ortonville Road into the path of his vehicle.  The pedestrian was crossing the road in an area not designated as a crosswalk.  As a result, the GMC collided with the pedestrian.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc Twp. by Paramedics from the Brandon Township Fire Department where she was pronounced dead. There were no passengers in the GMC.  Neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash regarding the operator of the GMC. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Alcohol and drug use by the pedestrian is currently unknown.
The crash remains under investigation.
VICTIM INFORMATION: 50-year-old female, resident of Brandon Township.
DRIVER INFORMATION: 59-year-old male, resident of Brandon Township.
