GoFundMe Set Up for Hazel Park Councilperson Who Lost Home, Animals in Fire
Hazel Park, MI- A fire at the home of Hazel Park City Councilperson Alissa Sullivan has destroyed more than just the building and the property inside. Sullivan also lost dogs and cats that she fosters.
The fire happened Wednesday evening in the 43000 block of Hughes. According to The Daily Tribune, the fire began in the kitchen while Sullivan was not home.
Sullivan posted about the loss on Facebook, saying “Thank you to everyone who has reached out, I just need some time to think. I’m physically uninjured. I lost all of my Pets – my family, I’m devastate to my core. The fire that devastated my house took everything. Literally everything. Please understand and again, thank you.”
Sullivan is a Hazel Park City Councilperson, an animal rights activist, and a professional dog walker. Her friend Tammy Pereira set up the fundraising page, stating “She is a wonderful person and we need your help to support her during these tough times.” The money will help Sullivan with temporary housing, clothing, etc.
