Reporter Food: Tuna Poke Bowl at Bobcat Bonnie’s
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Nov. 28, 2018)
Ferndale, MI- Bobcat Bonnie’s opened at 240 W. 9 Mile in Downtown Ferndale just about a month ago, and recently started opening for lunch. A friend and I finally had a chance to give it a try.
My friend had a beautiful looking dish called the Tuna Poke Bowl. This came with seared tuna, avocado, pickled ginger, watermelon radish, green onion, sweet pickled cucumber, sesame seeds and sriracha mayo.
The menu at Bobcat Bonnie’s has pages and pages of culinary options, so it was hard to choose. But I went with the Salmon Pasta and that was a good choice. It was Parmesan encrusted salmon with garlic, angel hair pasta, tomatoes, and kale, topped with balsamic.
The specialty cocktail section had a variety of choices, but I went with the Toasted Hot Cocoa. This soothing mix of hot chocolate, Sugar Island Run, and Tippy Cow Chocolate was topped with whipped cream and flakes of coconut.
The layout of Bobcat Bonnie’s is the same as the previous restaurant, but they’ve added their own touches, including a neon rainbow colored mural and a collage of golden cookware.
Bobcat Bonnie’s also has locations at 1800 Michigan Avenue, Detroit and 118 Sycamore St, Wyandotte. Learn more at www.bobcatbonnies.com
