Fatal Accident on E. Holly Road
(Michigan State Police, Nov. 18, 2018)
Holly, MI – On 11/17 at 1050 PM, Metro North troopers responded to a one car rollover crash, on fire with entrapment on E Holly x Tucker. Trooper McLaughlin was first on scene and reported the driver and front passenger were entrapped with the vehicle on fire.
Troopers attempted to pull the victims from the burning vehicle but were initially unsuccessful due to the victims legs being pinned under the dashboard and flames coming from the engine compartment.

Troopers used their patrol car fire extinguishers to knock down the fire to the point were they were able to get to the victims and were able to remove the driver. The fire department arrived and started to put the rest of the fire out.
Troopers used the fire hose to keep the flames down and off of the passenger as the fire department worked on from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. Both the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital with severe burns.
Victim #1 , 22 years old from Clarkston was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Victim #2, Male, 20 years old from Waterford, serious injuries
Victim #3, Female, 17 years old from Davisburg, No reported injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that it doesn’t appear that alcohol/drugs were a factor. However, speed was a factor as it appears that the vehicle was driving too fast to negotiate the curved roadway. Investigation continues by Metro North Post and MSP traffic reconstruction.
