Nails Spread Around Ferndale Police Station, Again
(Ferndale Police, Nov. 16, 2018)
Ferndale, MI, On Monday evening, November 12, approximately between 8 pm and 9 pm an unidentified person strategically placed several piles of nails on roads around the Ferndale Police Department where scout cars regularly travel and the 43rd District Court. This is the second incident of this nature in the last two weeks and poses a serious threat to the safety and security of our community. Often, the difference between life and death comes down to mere seconds. In an instance where a member of our community suffers a life threatening medical emergency or is a victim of a violent crime, a flat tire on one or more responding scout cars could result in tragedy.
Because of ongoing maintenance on city security systems, we do not have useable footage of the subject placing the nails in the roads. We are asking that anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area during that particular time frame please call the Ferndale Police at 248-541-3650 or CRIME STOPPERS AT 800-SPEAK UP.
Dash cam video of nails in roadway and body cam video of cleanup posted on our YouTube Channel https://youtu.be/xA_x0BImG04
