Village of Holly Changes Snow Ordinance
(Village of Holly, Nov. 1, 2018)
Holly, MI- The Village of Holly has changed their rules for wintertime parking. According to an email from the Village:
“In the past, the Village had a snow ordinance prohibiting parking on the streets from November 15th- April 15th. Recently, the Village Council reviewed this ordinance and a new ordinance was approved.
“The Council understood that large amounts of snow are not as common as light snowfalls, and the prohibiting parking all winter creates parking difficulty for residents.
“The new snow ordinance reads as follows;  “No parking on any Village street during a snow emergency. A snow emergency is declared when two (2) inches of snow or more are predicted by the National Weather Service out of Flint or White Lake, whichever is higher.  Parking will remain prohibited until 24 hours after the snowfall has ended.” Therefore, only in times of 2 inches or more snow does your car need to be moved off of the streets.”
