Ferndale, MI- Residents in the area of E. Breckenridge and Woodward Ave woke to the sound of gunshots early Friday morning.
The incident happened in front of Bosco Lounge at 22930 Woodward Ave.
According to Ferndale Police Chief Vincent Palazzolo, “At around 0157 hours an unknown person fired 5 shots into the air in front of the Bosco bar. There were no injuries, no arrest, no property damage and at this time no suspects. The police department will be looking for surveillance video from the surrounding businesses. If there are any witness to the event please contact the detective bureau at detectives@ferndalepolice.org”
A window of Fox Frame Shop was also broken in the early morning, prior to the shooting incident. “The broken window happened an hour prior to the shots being fired by a different patron of the bar who was removed for inappropriate conduct. Sounds like the bar needs to tighten up security, the PD will be meeting the owners about the activity,” Chief Palazzolo said.
Bosco owner Jay Noon commented on Facebook, stating “ As the owner of Bosco I feel compelled to reach out to our community. The safety of Ferndale is our top priority. We are working directly with the Police in every capacity to bring justice to those involved. The incident happened half way between us and the corner of the block. This was not an incident that spilled out from inside the bar but was rather something that was brought to Ferndale. As a father of 3 children, something like this happening so close to home really puts things into perspective. This is not who BOSCO is and it is not who we represent. You have my word we will do everything we can to procure the safety of our patrons & our community.”
