Reporter Food: Pad Thai from Pi’s Thai in Hazel Park
Hazel Park, MI – For over 30 years Pi’s Thai at 24940 John R in Hazel Park has been serving up family-made Thai food. There are lots of choices on the menu like Rad Na, Fried Rice, Gang Kheaw, and Nam Sod.
My favorite is Pad Thai, which is rice noodles stir fried with chicken, egg, bean sprouts and green onion, topped with peanuts and served with a lime slice.  There are options for how spicy people want their food. I am a wimp and I get mine without spice, leaving the dish delicious with a nice chicken flavor and a bit of sweetness.  However, Pi’s Thai is known for the heat of their spice.  A laminated cartoon chart on the counter gives a good indication of what spice-lovers can expect.
I also had the Crab Rangoon, which was delicious. This is crab meat and cream cheese wrapped in won ton and flash-fried, served with plum sauce.  Mmmm….
This tiny restaurant has just a couple of booths, and most of their customers order to go. They are located at the corner of John R and 10 Mile Road. Look for the yellow sign.
