Public Info Meeting for Proposed Waterford Community Center Sept 13
Waterford, MI- Join us for a meeting regarding the proposed Waterford Community Center  Thursday, September 13, 2018, 6:00p.m. at the Waterford Recreation Center 5640 Williams Lk. Rd,  Waterford, MI 48329
In April 2017, the Waterford Township Board of Trustees held a Town Hall forum to share information and receive input from the community regarding the possibility of building a community center.  The video for this meeting can be viewed on-demand at the Township’s PEG channel website.
Survey
A survey was posted on the Waterford Township website and mailed to Waterford Township taxpayers with the Summer 2017 tax bill. Survey results were utilized by the Community Center committee to help determine how residents use or wish to use a community center in the Waterford Township Community.

Built in 1947
Township purchased in 2002
5,000 visits per week
Over 275 Programs and Activities
Gathering spot for residents of all ages
Electrical system in poor condition, needs to be replaced
HVAC system needs to be replaced
Elevator should be replaced
Needs new windows and roof
Foundation is compromised
Minimally ADA compliant
Inefficient layout for current usage
45% of all money budgeted for capital repairs was spent on the Recreation Center

Ballot Language Approval
At a regular meeting of the Waterford Township Board of Trustees held August 13, 2018, ballot proposal language for a proposed new community center was approved to appear on the November 6, 2018 ballot.
