Person of Interest Sought in Novi Death Investigation

Novi, MI- At 10:16 am on August 13, the Novi Police Department received a call for a welfare check at a home on the 26000 block of Indiana Avenue in the Novi Meadows neighborhood.
Novi police officers and emergency personnel arrived on the scene within three minutes and upon entry discovered at 37-year-old female on the floor in the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident appears to be domestic in nature and there is no threat to the public. As such, the Novi police are searching for a person of interest in connection with the incident. Jay Allen Burnett, 34, is the woman’s boyfriend and was last seen driving a 2005 silver Cadillac DeVille, Michigan license plate number BZZ 7808.
The matter remains under investigation by Novi police detectives and Michigan State Police crime scene technicians. The victim’s cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office.
