Grace Centers of Hope Thrift Stores Seeking Donated Items
(GCH, Aug. 10, 2018)
Oak Park, MI- Grace Centers of Hope (GCH) CEO Pastor Kent Clark is encouraging metro Detroit residents to donate gently-used household items to its four thrift stores. Items accepted include furniture, glassware, dishes, pots, pans, small and large appliances, tools, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bulk items.
Donations can be dropped off at GCH or at each of the four store locations. To schedule a large donation pick-up, call (855) 435-7424. For more information about GCH and its four thrift stores visit www.gracecentersofhope.org.
GCH Thrift Stores are experiencing a shortage in donations and inventory. Proceeds from the sale of thrift store items account for nearly 50 percent of the nonprofit’s annual operating budget, which provides life-saving programs and services for men, women and children.
“Not only do our thrift store donations generate revenue to support our meaningful programs at GCH but they also provide an environment where residents in our programs can work and learn valuable skill sets before they transition back into society,” said Pastor Kent Clark, CEO of Grace Centers of Hope.
GCH was established in 1942 as a homeless shelter and has grown and evolved into one of the oldest and largest faith-based outreach organizations to disadvantaged individuals and families in Michigan. The organization accepts no government funding and 100 percent of its revenues are obtained through private support, fundraising initiatives and its four thrift stores.
