How’d Your Community Do? Voter Turnout Rates Throughout Oakland County

Oakland County, MI- The numbers are in for the Aug. 7, 2018 Primary Election, and data guru Kurt Metzger has compiled a list of communities ranked by voter turnout percentages.
Huntington Woods took the top spot Tuesday, with 55% of registered voters turning out to vote, with Pleasant Ridge taking second with 52.7%.
Pontiac had the lowest turnout rate with 19.2%. Hazel Park and Waterford also neared the bottom of the list.
Hazel Park and Pontiac were among the communities that ran out of ballots on Election Day.  While everyone was invited to stay and wait for copies to be made, an indeterminable number of voters chose not to.  It’s unclear how much this could have impacted the results.  Hazel Park, Pontiac and Waterford were also among communities with proposals on the ballot.
On a precinct by precinct basis, Precinct 10 in Novi had the highest turnout  with 64.6 % and Precinct 18 in Pontiac had the lowest turnout – 7.7 percent

Countywide there were 942,340 registered voters.  320,502 voted, making the countywide turnout 34.01 %.  For a map of results and breakdowns by precinct visit the Oakland County Clerk’s website.
