Rust Belt’s New Outdoor Drinking Spot, Bar Hop, Opening Saturday
Ferndale, MI – Chris and Tiffany Best are preparing to launch the latest component of their ever-growing Rust Belt Market – Bar Hop. Bar Hop will keep the patio hopping even in hours when the market is closed. And it’s going to make its big debut during one of the busiest festivals of the year – Ferndale Pride.
Though only a small area in front of Rust Belt’s entrance on the corner of W.9 Mile and Woodward Avenue, the space holds a lot of personality.
The bar and wooden furniture were designed by Chris from pieces of a fallen barn. And Tiffani designed the greenery, adding bold white planters with plush succulents and flowering plants.
The plan is for Bar Hop to offer beer, wine, a limited number of cocktails and even boozy popsickles.
Inside Rust Belt will continue to offer a venue for dozens of local artists and crafters, as well event space and an inside bar.
“Bar Hop was inspired by the unique private property we’ve had demarcated by a welded fence. We have a beautiful bar inside but it was built to service events and our market hours only,” said Chris. “Our market closes at 7pm Friday and Saturday. This outdoor area allows us to serve the public during the week and later on weekends. The atmosphere is designed by the Lady Lazarus team so it is heavy on botanical beauty.”
