Man Charged with Driving into House in Farmington Hills

Farmington Hills, MI – The Farmington Hills Police Department is investigating a hit and run crash. The incident occurred at a residence on Shiawassee west of Inkster on May 23, 2018, at approximately 4:18 AM. A Ford F-150 pickup truck left the roadway and struck a residence. The home was occupied at the time of the crash and no injuries reported by anyone inside. The driver of the vehicle was seen fleeing the scene on foot. Farmington Hills Police officers with the assistance of a Royal Oak Police K9 tracked the suspect to a home not far from the crash location.
Officers were able to identify and make contact with the driver who was taken into custody.  The driver was identified as 62-year-old, John Leonard Voskhul Jr of Farmington Hills.  Voskhul was charged with:
Operating under the influence of a controlled substance
Failing to report an accident
Failing to stop and identify after an accident
Voshkul was arraigned before Judge James Brady of the 47th District Court. Judge Brady set bond in this case at $25,000 cash surety and he remains in custody.  Voskhul’s next court appearance will be on June 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM for a pre-exam conference.
