Berkley Families Bring Out Bikes for Parade

Berkley, MI – In spite of a drizzly morning, families in Berkley met at Angell Elementary School for the annual Bike Parade.
This event is part of Berkley Days, a tradition dating back over 90 years. With decorated bikes and even a couple of costumes, the pack of riders made their way through the tree-lined neighborhood to the Community Center where a pancake breakfast was waiting.
Three-year-old Abigail wasn’t quite ready for two wheels and handlebars, so she rode in a “flower power” decorated wagon pulled with mommy-power.
“This is her first parade,” said the toddler’s mother. “It’s going to be so much fun.” She even picked out a flower-print sweater to keep the girl warm and fit in with the floral theme.
