Superhero Teachers on Mothers’ Day by Heather Wolkow
Holly, MI – I’m writing on behalf of my 5yr old son.  His Super Hero Moms are his pre-school teachers, Colleen Pudduck and Lorey Steele!! Without these women Liam and I would not have survived the 1st year of school, after learning Liam has Sensory Processing Disorder.
It was these woman who brought it to my attention there might be more going with him other then a very, enteric, boy who is easily distracted, interrupting his learning. Liam was evaluated and is now in Occupational Therapy.
They communicated with Liam’s OT therapist on trying to get the best classroom learning experience for Liam and less disruption to his peers. One time taking a recommendation from the therapist home and modifying a classroom chair to help with Liam’s needs. With a classroom of 16 students they manage to recognize when my son might need an extra reminder or direction.
These women have helped me get Liam on track for his start of education. Without them WE would be still struggling not knowing about his SPD. As a team we continue to learn about Liam’s sensory needs and how to manage them. They are Liam’s Village! They are Super Hero Moms!!!
Blumz by JR Designs hosted a contest to recognize Super Hero moms. Winners were selected from their Detroit, Holly and Ferndale Shops. Learn more about Blumz at http://www.blumz.com/
